Filmworkers hires Skillicorn as first Midwest rep

For the first time in its 22 years of business, Filmworkers Club, specialists in visual effects, compositing and color grading, has hired a Midwestern rep to expand its reach between coasts.

Nathan Skillicorn’s company, Heart, Brains & Nerve, will also sell for Filmworkers’ local affiliates: hybrid production studio Vitamin and creative retouching and pre-media specialist Giannini Creative, for advertising projects.

Asked why his company had hired a sales rep after two decades without one, Filmworkers VP/founder Reid Brody acknowledged that these different times and heightened market competition called for a change in strategies.

In the short time he’s been a rep – he started his company in 2010 — Skillicorn has signed with notable advertising and entertainment talent.  He represents Big Deahl, Chicago’s premiere tabletop studio, live action The Artists Company, and through Free Agents-Patricia Claire Co., both New York, he represents Nexus and Passion Pictures of London, and Buck, Elastic, Hornet, Pleix, Nexus Interactive Arts and Bossa Digital in New York and L.A.

Skillicorn sees great growth opportunities for Filmworkers Club and Vitamin by expanding ties here and by introducing them to other advertising markets. “Agencies that have worked with them, love them; agencies that haven’t, will.”

Filmworkers also operates Astrolab and Digigog digital lab in  Chicago, and has branches in Dallas and Nashville.
