NBC’s Chicago Fire is back on Wednesday, October 1, launching Season 14, as the flagship of the One Chicago franchise. For more than a decade, Firehouse 51 has anchored stories that balance high-stakes rescues with the personal lives of characters who have become household names in Chicago and beyond.
Where We Left Off
Season 13 closed on several emotional turning points. Chief Dom Pascal faced a police investigation that threatened to end his career, until Severide uncovered evidence proving that Lieutenant Vale was responsible for the wrongdoing, clearing Pascal’s name.
Inside the house, Herrmann surprised everyone by stepping down from his position so longtime friend Mouch could be promoted to lieutenant — a decision that underscored the loyalty at the heart of Firehouse 51. Violet finally shared her feelings for Carver, handing him a letter just as he prepared to leave for Denver. Carver turned back, and the two declared their love for each other. The biggest revelation came in the final moments: Stella Kidd is pregnant, news that promises to reshape her and Severide’s lives both on and off the job.
Changes Ahead
Season 14 will bring both goodbyes and new beginnings. Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) and Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri) are departing as series regulars, though Ritter will return briefly for a proper sendoff. Jack Damon (Michael Bradway) will also exit this season.
Joining the cast is Brandon Larracuente as firefighter Sal Vasquez, stepping into the House 51 family, along with Annabeth Gish in a recurring role as Annette Davis, the mayor’s chief of staff. Their arrivals set the stage for new dynamics inside the firehouse and beyond.
