Burnett sweeps CAAA by winning half the 110 awards

MIGHT AS WELL call the Chicago American Ad Awards (bring back the ADDYs name, please!) the Leo Burnett Awards Sweep, since the agency and its various companies overwhelmed the CAAA last Thursday.

Out of 110 prizes, the Burnett consortium won 59 Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes!  They included six Golds, mainly for clients Allstate and McDonald’s plus the Special Judges Citation of Excellence plus 52 Silvers and Bronzes.

The two biggies they missed were Agency of the Year – to Y&R Midwest and Client of the Year, to Cramer-Krasselt client Luna Corona, which is a brand of Crown Imports, LLC, which also received three additional Gold Winner Awards.

Jerry Rig Productions was the lone non-agency/big client Gold Winner, for client ConAgra Foods, in the sales promotion category.  You can see all winners here.

RESOLUTION PRODUCTION GROUP on Thursday night hosted its 5th annual client dinner, an elegant, flawless affair for 140 guests at Resolution Digital Studios. Starting at 6 p.m., dinner was served in five leisurely shifts, in the Resolution dining room with an open kitchen where Lee Faclis was one of the chefs who dished up steaks done to perfection, fried in heavy cast iron pans. Desert buffets were stationed throughout the stage, as were well-stocked bars.

Resolution Production Group is the official new brand name that unites owners Lee and Jeff Faclis’ three related companies: Resolution Digital Studios, The Show Department and Screenworks. Company manager is Fred Booras and communication director is Chris Payne. Employees number in the sixties.
