The Chicago Ad Federation boasted it had 350 submissions for the recent ADDY Awards from local agencies and those entries were carefully considered by 25 top creatives from national pedigreed agencies.
As a result of all this vetting, and no doubt based on the sheer volume of entries from Leo Burnett, it should have been no surprise that the Publicis giant had a colossal haul of 62 awards, including six out of the seven ADDY Bests.
Not only did the agency win big in all 14 award categories, but Burnett also laid claim to an additional 12 awards won by its Arc Worldwide and Lapiz divisions for a super grand total of 74 out of 127 awards.
The big agency was also named Best of Show, its client Allstate the Client of the Year, plus 2013 Best In Category Winners, Advertising for the Arts & Sciences, Integrated Campaigns, Television and Local Only categories.
As for the other 24 agencies that also managed to win prizes, here’s how they fared: McGarryBowen, 10; Ogilvy & Mather, 9; Havas and Digitas, 3 each; Energy BBDO, Gyros, Tris3ct, Cramer-Krasselt, Third Street, Burrell, Downtown Partners and Cavalry, two each.
One award each was won by Sapient Nitro, Jacobson Rost, Digital Kitchen, Y&R, OMD, Commonground, Laughlin Constable, 71 Degrees North, Rascals Rogues, Distillery Project, Escape Pod and One at Optimus.
