Agency SCC’s New Year starts with a new account

AGENCY SCC starts 2014 with new business from Evanston-based Kerrygold USA, importers of Ireland-made butter and cheese.  Said Molly O’Loughlin, Kerrygold USA’s marketing director, in announcing their new agency: “SCC is a food expert that knows our consumers and most importantly, they are scrappy enough to help us grow our business in any kind of market.”

“Scrappy” aside, SCC’s tasty food accounts include Campbell’s, ConAgra Foods, Giordano’s Pizza, Land O’Lakes, the National Pork Board, John Morrell Food group and Uncle Dougie’s, in which SCC has an ownership interest.

WHO’S NEW. Multi-award winning director/cameraman Domenic Mastrippolito, whose major commercial clients include a recent big NFL package promoting the 2017 Super Bowl, has signed with Roy Skillicorn’s Seed Media for representation.  Besides Mastrippolito’s commercial successes, he shoots second unit on major features (“The Davinci Code”)and TV shows (“Modern Family”).

*With business booming due to more business from present and new clients, Tim Plum’s Plum Productions hired Lisa Goepfrich, as its second producer alongside Kellye Blosser, who has been with Plum Productions for four years.   Goepfrich who previously worked for Towers Productions, Kurtis Productions and Ch. 11. 

*WTTW/11 promoted Jill Britton to the key position of SVP/Chief Development Officer.  Britton has almost 20 years of experience in individual, foundation, and corporate fundraising, more than a decade with in the arts and culture arenas.   She joined WTTW in 2006 as Development Director for Individual Giving, advancing to VP/Development in 2009 and an SVP title last year.

HAVAS WORLDWIDE’S RON BESS stepped down from his 4-year position as president of North American operations Dec. 31, but continues with the agency in a consulting role.  Bess, a 40-year Michigan Avenue veteran previously had careers at what is now DDB and Draftcb. 

In addition to his many Havas achievements, Bess was the CAF’s Executive of the Year in 2013; serves as the 4As chairman for Chicago, is chairman for the Midwest region and a member of the 4As national board.

BROADCASTER JANE PAULEY, introduces her inspirational  book, “Your Life Calling,” at a Jan 17 luncheon at the Union League Club luncheon. In pursuing her lengthy NBC broadcast career that started in 1975, Pauley spent a year in Chicago before joining the network in New York.  She is AARP’s Ambassador of “Your Life Calling” and the host of that segment on “The Today Show.”  An Indiana native, she is married to “Doonesbury” cartoon satirist Gary Trudeau.
