Cutters’ Another Country sound design studio added audio mixed/engineer Peter Erazmus, who becomes the sound company’s fifth engineer as part of its expansion.
He joins the team of John Binder, Drew Weir, Erik Widmark and Dave Gerbosi, whom he assisted when they worked together at CRC.
Last week, audio engineer Drew Weir of Vagabond Audio joined Another Country, Cutters’ sound division, while his wife and partner, Rise’ Sanders, opted to keep the Vagabond brand going and the office doors open to accommodate her clients for the seeable future.
Another Country has opened what is possibly the largest sound recording room in the Midwest — one that clients are calling “the best room in Chicago,” says partner/sound designer John Binder with justifiable pride.
Construction on the $1 million sound stage began last November and was completed by late January to handle sound for Super Bowl spots.
“The room was designed to mix all formats for broadcast and theatrical,” notes executive producer Tim Konn.
One of the city’s favorite sound designer /mixers, David Gerbosi, is gearing up for a month of work on a big package of Anheuser-Busch/DDB Super Bowl spots in his new 25th floor mixing room at Another Country.
Gerbosi joined Cutters’ sound division Monday, after his current contract with CRC expired in November after 16 years with the company.
DDB put a hold on its two favorite Bud brand sound designers, Gerbosi and John Binder, for a slew of Anheuser-Busch brands — Budweiser, Bud Light, Bud Light Lime and American Ale -? 2009 Super Bowl spots to air Feb. 1 from Tampa.

The winning combo of Leo Burnett and Another Country sound designer David Gerbosi, who has mixed every Allstate Insurance “Mayhem” spot since the agency introduced the concept in 2008, scored still another set of honors for their work.
A trio of the city’s top sound designer/engineers opened the doors to their own company last week in the best possible way, with new business under their arms.
SUM 1 Audio Post and Sound Design is the new business of partners Robert Marshall and Ben Keller, 15 and 12-year veterans, respectively, of Cutters’ division, Another Country, and Shawn Ballman, who has operated his own solo audio company, Soundslave, for many years.
KUDOS TO CUTTERS for winning three top 2012 AICE awards at the ceremony held Thursday in Marina Del Ray Ritz Carlton. Editor Chris Hafner scored Best of Chicago and Best Automotive for Fiat 500 “Karl Abarth,” and John Binder of Another Country aced Best Sound Design for Allstate. Optimus Design won for Best Design for Craftsman.
Within the space of a year, post house executive Craig Duncan has come full circle.
Leaving Detroit’s multi-division Grace & Wild after more than a decade for single-service Red Car editorial, he’s now Cutters, Inc.’s newly appointed executive producer of Cutters Editorial, and also leads the company’s other divisions, Sol Design, Another Country, Dictionary Films and Picnic.
Duncan will work with long-time Cutters staffer, Cindy Duffy, who has been elevated from executive producer to director of post production of all five divisions.
More than 450 guests crowded Cutters downtown facilities for its first Halloween party, one that assuredly will become an annual event for hosts Cutters, Sol Design, Another Country and Dictionary films.

Lapiz Integrated Hispanic Marketing topped the seven Chicago winners who were among the 68 U.S. winners of top prize Golden Statuette winners in the recent 2003 Mobius Advertising Awards.
Lapiz took a total of eight awards — five Golden Statuettes and three Second Place certificates. Cramer-Krasselt, Another Country and Leo Burnett each brought home two and Campbell Mithun one for TV. Grant-Jacoby won a Golden Statuette for mixed media and The Monogram Group for direct mail. Cramer-Krasselt also was one of six U.S.
