Ten35 agency taps Norman Brothers for digital spot

A digital video for Mountain Dew, in association with the NBA’s Washington Wizards and 7/Eleven was produced by Norman Brothers Productions for Ten35, the successor agency to Sherman Wright and Ahmad Islam’s Commonground/MGS, which closed in December.

Launched on Facebook, the 60-second “Dolla Dolla Beals” features Washington Wizards’ guard Bradley Beal making cash rain down on unsuspecting 7/Eleven customers each time he shoots an everyday item into an improvised hoop.

Scheduled to shoot late January in an Arlington, Va. 7/Eleven store, the production was not without its challenges, says Norman Brothers’ EP Peter Williams.

“We battled over two feet of snow from a winter storm to prep the production. Then two nights before the shoot, Bradley Beal got an elbow in his face during a game and left with a broken nose causing us to postpone the shoot for a couple of weeks.”

Norman Brothers KC and Kipp directed and did the creative editing. “It was a cool creative opportunity despite the modest social media budget,” says Kipp Norman.

“The Ten35 team was awesome to collaborate with, and we were obviously excited by the opportunity to team up with Pepsi, and Bradley Beal, one of the NBA’s brightest young stars,” KC Norman adds.

Their latest project was producing a 30-second Indiana Hoosier Lottery spot and 15-second versions for Indianapolis agency Mortenson, Safar & Kim.

Norman Brothers Productions is located in a 3,000-sq. ft. office at 2023 W. Carroll; phone 323/375-4360.
