JC Brooks band toplines CRC Holiday Party Thursday

Chicago Recording Company, together with Filmworkers, Vitamin and Giannini Creative, expect their 2014 Holiday Party Thursday night to be the biggest ever, with 1,200 to 1,500 guests enjoying a headline band and music in every nook and cranny of the companies’ Streeterville location.

And for the first time, 93XRT.com/live will stream 90 minutes of live video of the bands and the recording space where some of the greatest names in the music business have recorded over CRC’s 50-year history, starting at 7:30 p.m.

“We will have music on all four floors,” says CRC EP Rose Razal, “starting with local bands JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound and The Hudson Branch on the first floor in our big Studio Four.”

On the second floor, two DJs, one for karaoke, hold forth.

Post rooms on each floor will have themed music dedicated to a decade: 1890s Wild West; Roaring ‘20s; 1940s USO; Groovin’ ‘70s and a Futuristic Rave Room of electronic music.

Filmworkers Club is opening its doors in its fourth floor penthouse space, featuring the Michael Jackson Jazz Trio and the Fabulous Divas from the Kit Kat Lounge.

“Snacks and Goose Island Beer, and specialty drinks will be served in full bars on every floor,” says music studio manager Sarah Hamilton.

She got started as the main party planner in late August, working with studio manager Chris Shepard, while producer/composer Matthew Boll, who reached out to the bands, and freelance videographer Michael Azzato connected with XRT for the live stream.

Doors open at 6 p.m., the live bands play until 10:30 p.m. and the party is expected to rock until midnight.
