The world premiere of Haroula Rose’s first feature film, Once Upon A River, takes place at Geena Davis’s Bentonville Film Festival on May 10, 2019.

Filmed in Northeast Illinois, Once Upon A River is based on the best-selling novel by Bonnie Jo Campbell. It tells a tale of redemption, love, and loss for a native American teen in 1978 rural Michigan.

The teen’s actions tragically result in her father’s murder, sending her on an outdoorsy misadventure with a 70’s aesthetic along the Stark River.

The cast of Once Upon A River includes Kenadi DelaCerna, John Ashton, Tatanka Means, Ajuawak Kapashesit, Coburn Goss, Sam Straley, Arie Thompson and Evan Linder.

Haroula Rose is a Chicago native currently living between her hometown and Los Angeles. A versatile artist, she has not only earned dozens of film and TV credits as a writer, director, and actor, but is also recognized as an accomplished singer and songwriter.

Her recent achievements include directing the short film As They Slept (currently in post-production) and writing and directing Lost and Found (2017).

Rose is repped by Pigeon Roost for branded entertainment and commercials.
