Haman now SVP head of The Onion’s in-house agency

Rick Hamann, Onion Labs’ SVP/creative

ENERGY BBDO CREATIVE RICK HAMANN left the agency, where he’d been SVP/group CD since mid-2011, to join Onion Labs, as SVP and head of the satirical publication’s in-house agency, with offices in River North.

With Hamann’s 15 years of agency experience working on important brands, says The Onion CEO Steve Hannah, “Rick is perfect to head up Onion Labs. His job is to make sure that the most original, inventive comedy and pop culture ideas are created for our clients, and that they are absolutely aligned with their business goals.”

Earlier, Hamann was a copywriter at JWT and now-defunct Element79 before senior creative positions at Factor Desig and Cramer/Krasselt.
