ComEd videos show teens creative career potentials

“The Power of Possibilities”

For client ComEd, multicultural agency Carol H. Williams Advertising Chicago created the “Power of Possibilities” video campaign, partnering with the Remix Project Chicago to help disadvantaged Chicago area youth discover how science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) can help them achieve a career in any industry.

Williams’ CD Marcus Taylor and art director Thomas Watts-Walton wrote, art directed and produced the two-minute introductory video and four 60-second videos with Ranadeb Choudhury’s 8tiv Labs, a full-service brand consultancy.

Music industry experts and Remix teens, who plan a career in music, talk and demonstrate how music utilizes the STEM basics – the science behind a music career, the opportunities in music technology, the importance of audio engineering in creating a song and how math is used to plan and manage success.

“Local partnerships and support such as this with ComEd have made it possible for Remix Chicago to expand our services and launch the first semester of Recording Arts programming later this year,” says Derek “Drex” Jancar, co-founder/CFO of The Remix Project.

The “Power of Possibilities” campaign also includes radio and digital spots, billboard and print featuring students from Young Men’s Educational Network, Leo High School and the youth at The Remix Project Chicago.

Carole H. Williams started her in Chicago and branched out to offices in Oakland, Cal., her headquarters, and New York.  An office is maintained here at 444 N. Michigan Ave. to service their ComEd, General Motors and Y-USA accounts.

The Remix Project’s programs and services serve youth who are trying to enter the creative industries or further their formal education.  It provides top-notch alternative, creative, educational programs, facilitators and facilities to help refine the raw talents of young people in order to help them find success as participants define it and on their own terms.
