CIFF starts Industry Days with Gigi Pritzker tribute

CIFF’S INDUSTRY DAYS kick off Oct. 24 with a special Industry Tribute to Gigi Pritzker, CEO of production and financing company Odd Lot Entertainment (OLE), and producer of more than 20 Hollywood films since 1989, including Jon Stewart’s directorial debut “Rosewater.”

She has expanded OLE’s footprint by creating the foreign sales company Sierra/Affinity, and recently helped launch the film studio STX. 

Moderator is Pritzger’s friend Andrea Wishom, COO of San Francisco-based Skywalker Properties and former EVP/Harpo Studios.  At the AMC River North theatre.  A reception in Pritzger’s honor follows at Tribune Tower’s rooftop Crown Terrace.

ENERGY BBDO introduced “Off You Go,” all-new brand platform launched last week for client Quaker that centers on how Quaker helps provide the ideal morning start so families are prepared for whatever the day ahead holds for them.

 

The debut spot “Life of Go was created by agency ECD Suzanne Michaels, senior copywriter Caroline Reed; producers were head of integrated production Rowley Samuel, EP John Pratt and producer Vanessa Luhr.

WOMEN IN FILM WIF will host a Thursday, Sept. 24 panel discussion about careers in advertising, moderated by events chair Lejla Ceric, the career services advisor at the Illinois Institute of Art. At DePaul college of Computing & Digital Media, 243 S. Wabash, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 

A McDONALD’S SPOT from Burrell Communications, “Taste the Excitement,” produced by LA’s Original Films and edited by The Colonie’s Bob Ackerman, creates a carnival ride mood to introduce the chain’s new touch-screen kiosk ordering system, now rolling out in select US locations.

A SIXTH MEMBER to join the elite circle of female audio engineers / sound designers is Alejandra “Aly” Leon of BAM Studios. Owner / engineer Brian Reed informs that “Aly has been working at BAM for about two years and also works on Hispanic projects,” in response to bilingual Ana de Irisarri having joined ARU.

Leon is now listed along with Katy Mindeman of Particle; Amber Tisue, Stir; Marina Bacci, Optimus, Sarah Krohn, Energy BBDO and De Irisarri, ARU — out of an estimated 50 local audio engineers.
