Chicago series Somebody Somewhere leading the Dorian TV Nominations

Somebody Somewhere
Bridget Everett

The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics has announced its 14th Dorian TV Awards nominations for the best in all of TV, mainstream to LGBTQIA+ content.

Leading the list of TV’s best, with five nominations each, is the HBO comedy Somebody Somewhere and the HBO Max comedy Hacks.

Although set in small town Kansas, Somebody Somewhere is filmed in Lockport, Lemont, and Naperville. Starring and executive produced by comedian and singer Bridget Everett, the series follows Sam (played by Everett), a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in but don’t give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible. Anywhere. Somewhere.

Somebody Somewhere was nominated for best TV performance (Bridget Everett), supporting TV performance (Jeff Hiller) and best TV musical performance, best unsung TV show category, and the best LGBTQ show.
