LAPIZ’ NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR is Brazilian Carlos Murad, moving to the Chicago headquarters of Leo Burnett’s Hispanic division, to lead brands Purina Latin America, Kellogg’s, Mexico Tourism Board and Nintendo, among others, after five years at WMcCann, Sao Paulo.

This is a return to Leo Burnett for Murad, who started his career in 1999 as an art director with Burnett Sao Paulo. He also worked at Burnett’s Lisbon and Columbia offices and for FCB and Lowe in Sao Paulo.

At Lapiz Chicago headquarters, he will report to SVP/ECD Fabio Seidl, with whom he previously worked in Sao Paulo.

“It’s great to be back with the network and working with such a talented international team,” says Murad. “I’m looking forward to working with Fabio again and building upon the agency’s creative excellence.”

ONE AT OPTIMUS’ hiring of Chicago-based director Duncan Wolfe with a background in film, photography and politics, pushes its directorial roster to eight – four Chicago-based and four bicoastal.

Re his political background:  Wolfe had been a deputy digital director on the Obama 2012 presidential campaign following a stint at the White House, where he worked with the first official White House videographer and the photo office.
