Odd Machine executive producer Lisa Burke

Agency producer par excellence Lisa Burke, who’s spent her entire career producing commercials for many of the world’s biggest brands and best directors, has moved to the vendor side of the business.

Burke on Monday joined expanded Odd Machine production/post as executive producer in its River North and LA offices, following a year of freelancing after five years as McgarryBowen’s director of broadcast and content production, managing a production staff of more than 30, including producers, business managers, shooters, editors and designers.

Burke said she’d heard good things about Odd Machine, co-founded by editor Chris Shegich and director Seth Henrikson in 2008, and had a chance to meet and talk to them at a recent cocktail party the company hosted at its offices at 900 N. Franklin.

There, Burke says, “I felt inspired. This was the type of company I wanted to a part of. Our mission is simply to do great work, have fun while doing it and make the world a better place with the talents and resources that we possess.”

Odd Machine’s other executive producers are Alec Pinkston in Odd Machine’s West Side live and animation studios and Elizabeth Collins who leads its four-year old office in LA.

Recent work includes a campaign Revlonfor their DFi brand,  series of web videos for Jet Tools and  an animated piece for “Upworthy” on the net, about the future of the internet.

Earlier, Burke had spent three years as senior partner at JWT and had been a freelance producer for eight years, all the while working for major agencies and brands, producing award-winning spots and groundbreaking campaigns for Bud Light, Disney, Pizza Hut, Sears, Nestle, Miracle Whip among others.

Last November Odd Machine moved its post and directorial staff of 10 into 5,000-sq. ft. facilities on Franklin St. Its 10,000 sq. ft. studio is located at 3144 W. Carroll.
